We’ve all joked about wine and bar drinks tasting like rat’s urine – well now you can sample similar in the rat bar in California’s San Francisco.
The furry rodents are stars at the city’s Dungeon tourist attraction and when the bar opened yesterday more than 500 guests scurried to cuddle and play with pet rats while they downed cocktails such as the Ama-RAT-o Sour garnished with a rat tail.
They also watched the San Francisco Dungeon theatrical show, followed by some cuddle time with the house rats from Ratical Rodent Rescue, a charity which cares for small creatures.
The dungeon is based in the city’s famous Fisherman’s Wharf and the opening night was a sell-out.
