Branson bags even more awards
Kasbah Tamadot, part of Virgin Limited Edition’s collection of world luxury retreats, has been named best resort hotel in north Africa and Middle East for the fourth year in Travel + Leisure’s 2021 reader awards.
This magical Moroccan away-from-it all resort nestles in a remote Berber village and marketplace in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Kasbah Tamadot is renowned for the lengths it goes to in supporting its local community by employing 99% of its staff from the village and creating the Eve Branson Foundation (Sir Richard’s late mother). The foundation creates opportunities and enhances living standards for young people, especially women, in some of country’s most impoverished areas.
- The tranquil and secluded hotel has just 28 rooms and suites, including the Master Suite and ten authentic Berber Tents. Each room is decorated in a unique style with beautiful artefacts from around the world.
- The luxurious tented suites offer stunning views of the Atlas Mountains, king-size beds, large soaking tubs (some with mountain views) and private terraces with sun loungers and 180-degree mountain views. Some even have private plunge pools.
- Accessed through the much-loved herb and vegetable garden, the tented suites are perfect for those looking for a little more privacy. Kasbah Tamadot truly is the ideal destination for complete relaxation. Vincent Padioleau, General Manager said: “We are over the moon to be awarded Best Resort Hotel for the third consecutive year and four times in total. We will all be raising a glass of authentic Moroccan mint tea in celebration.”
- Another Branson winner from Travel + Leisure is his sister property – Safari Camp, Mahali Mzuri, which was ranked as Number One Resort in Africa – and the world.
